This article is about the first Gaiden game. You may be looking for a novel, manga, or the series itself.

Wizardry Gaiden I: Suffering of the Queen was the first spin-off in the franchise and the first game in ASCII old Wizardry Gaiden series released for the original gray-scale Nintendo Game Boy portable video game system in October 1, 1991.

Plot[]

The power of the Staff of Gnilda, the artifact that protects the city to Llylgamyn is fading. Queen Iris's sister, Sorx went missing a year ago, along with the evil mage Thai Rossum (nicknamed Taros in fan-translation). The Queen has called upon adventurers to defeat Thailand Rossum and find her sister. The party of adventurers has heeded this call.[1]

Gameplay[]

The game is closely based on Wizardry V: Heart of the Maelstrom's engine apart from additional spells, items and monsters. It's the first Wizardry game to have graphics on the town screen.
